About Me

Ali Curtis -- Landscape Designer & Founder

Landscape design that listens first

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want your garden to look like.

A big part of my job is listening to how you want to live, understanding what matters to you and turning the ideas you can’t quite articulate into a garden that feels like yours.

And I design with your budget in mind.

That means helping you work out where to prioritise your spend, looking for opportunities for one element to do two jobs, simplifying construction where we can and avoiding expensive decisions that don’t add enough value.

I want the finished design to be beautiful. But it also needs to make sense to build.

Experience on both sides of the process

I started The Urban Garden Co in 2013 and have since designed more than 120 landscapes for new homes across Sydney’s North Shore, Northern Beaches and inner suburbs.

Along the way, I spent three years running the in-house design studio for a landscape construction company specialising in residential new builds.

That experience means I understand both sides of the process, how to create a great landscape on paper and what it takes to actually build it.
