WIGRAM ROAD
Our client, a Herbalist who runs her practice from home, wanted a garden that reflected her love of nature and its healing abilities. The brief, to create an attractive, edible garden with a relaxed, rustic feel.
The narrow outdoor space, synonymous with an inner city terrace, had a continual slope over the entire area. This gradient made it a difficult space to use. Our solution, to create three seperate levels that are easy to navigate through and work within.
We placed circular corten planter boxes of varying heights and diameters on the two upper levels. These raised beds are dedicated to vegetable growing. The tier of the garden closest to the home is full of perennial herbs and the surrounding plantings are a mixture of low maintenance natives and exotics. The oversize sandstone steppers, hand cut from large slabs, form a meandering pathway through the garden and are just another part of the bespoke craftsmanship that went into this project.
"Excellent choice of planting and hard materials to create a beautiful, textural and green space"
