Consultation FAQ’s

Why is there a fee for the initial consultation?

The consultation is a valuable part of the design process. It’s a collaborative on-site session where we explore your vision, assess the site conditions, discuss possibilities, and identify any key considerations before design work begins.

It allows us to make sure your project is set up for success, with clear direction and professional insight right from the start.

What is included in the consultation?

  • A one-on-one site meeting (up to 90 minutes)

  • Discussion of your wishlist, vision, challenges and priorities

  • Preliminary advice on opportunities, flow, planting and construction considerations

  • Budget and maintenance discussions as needed

  • A tailored design proposal outlining the scope, stages and design fee investment

You’ll walk away with clarity on the next steps and a clear path forward for your garden project.

Is the consultation fee deducted from the design fee if I go ahead?

The consultation is a standalone service and is not deducted from future design fees. It provides immediate value through expert guidance and ensures we begin the project with clarity, professionalism, and a shared understanding of your goals.

What if I just want some advice and not a full design?

That’s completely fine, the consultation can be a standalone service if you’re looking for expert guidance without a full design commitment. Many clients find even a single session brings fresh perspective and clear direction to their project planning.

What happens after the consultation?

Within a few business days, you’ll receive a tailored design proposal outlining the scope of work, the stages involved and the design fee investment. If you decide to move ahead, we’ll then schedule the next steps in the design process. There’s no obligation to continue beyond the consultation, it’s about finding the right fit for your project and your goals.
